OUR COMMUNITY

The Celestial Church of Christ (often abbreviated as CCC) is an African Initiated Church founded by Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa on September 29, 1947, in Porto-Novo, Dahomey (now Benin).

The Celestial Church of Christ (often abbreviated as CCC) is an African Initiated Church founded by Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa on September 29, 1947, in Porto-Novo, Dahomey (now Benin).

Here are some key aspects of the Celestial Church of Christ:

  1. Divine Origin: The church's foundation is attributed to a divine revelation received by Oshoffa during a solar eclipse while he was lost in a forest. He reported being called by God to found a new church with a mission to cleanse the world and worship God.

  2. OUR Beliefs:

    • We believe in the Holy Trinity: God the Father, Christ the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

    • We believe the Bible is the primary holy book.

    • we emphasize prayer, holiness, and divine healing.

    • Prophecy, visions, and spiritual messages play a significant role in our worship and guidance.

    • We believe in the efficacy of prayer for solving problems and for protection against evil forces.

  3. Global Presence: Though it originated in West Africa, the Celestial Church of Christ has spread globally, with parishes in many countries across Africa, Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia.

  4. Mission:

    1. to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom;

    2. to teach, baptize, and nurture new believers;

    3. to respond to human need by loving service;

    4. to seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind, and to pursue peace and reconciliation;

    5. Our mission, most importantly, is to worship God in holiness, evangelizing, performing charitable works, and bringing people to salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Celestial Church of Christ is one of the largest and most well-known African Initiated Churches worldwide. It has a distinctive style of worship and a strong emphasis on spiritual experiences and divine intervention.
